How to Configure myCore

Configuration describes how to perform common tasks that will arrange myCore resources so they are personalized to best meet the needs of your District. Additionally, configuring resources should include discussions between your Design Team, IT department and Insight Education Group personnel to satisfy district requirements for Web applications and to determine the district’s implementation plan including which information is most valuable for your needs.

Quick Tour of Configuration

About Configuration

Configuration describes initial setup where the Insight team makes sure the district will be able to maximize use of myCore by including important district information in secure but easy-to-access sections of the tool. Security protocols will be addressed early to optimize safety of sensitive information and login credentials.

Main Configuration Features

1. Personalizing district resources

2. Authentication and Single Sign-on

3. Uploading comma-separated values (CSV) files

1. Personalizing district resources

The district resources page is divided into several sections where important district information can be stored. A representative from the district should be designated to provide hyperlinks for the link bank, key documents specific to planning instruction and videos to include as resources for effective planning and teaching strategies.

2. Authentication & SSO

Many districts are moving to a Single Sign-on function that allows teachers to save time that would otherwise be spent hunting for their password and login credentials. myCore can be configured to match the authentication requirements and sign-on procedures used by your district.

3. Uploading CSV files

During the initial implementation planning stages, an Insight team member will ask for a CSV file of your users including information such as their username and role(s) to pre-populate myCore for you. You can also upload this information by following a few simple steps.
